Use the VA Patient Advocates

Post by GrowTutor »

Each VA medical center should have a Patient Advocate Office (although they might go by different names in different places) and I urge my brothers and sisters to use them if they have complaints. Our taxes pay for them to sit in their office, make them earn it...if you have a reason. ;)

I know that, as military members, we're trained to suck it up and follow instructions but that's is what the advocates are for. If you have problems with your primary care doctor, clinics, benefits, services, policy, etc., run it by the advocates. "Squeaky wheel gets the grease" and they can't fix problems if they don't know about them. If enough patients complain about a certain issue (pharmacy, parking, whatever) maybe they will fix it.
